Sakthi’s Questions
“Aunty, is there anyone without problems?”
Sakthi’s voice pulled Sugandhi out of her thoughts.
“Oh Sakthi… Problems may come… But what I experienced was betrayal of trust… rejection! Doesn’t it hurt when the people we work for, the people we melt for… don’t even care about us?”
“Of course it hurts, Aunty… We are all humans after all! But I’m saying that we shouldn’t keep that pain inside and let it turn into a scar, permanently lingering without healing!”
As Sakthi continued trying to comfort her, Sugandhi started recounting the significant events of her life, beginning with what happened on her wedding day. After hearing that, Sakthi remained silent for a moment.
Sakthi’s Regret
“I’m really sorry, Aunty… Your problem isn’t a small one!” she said, as Sugandhi’s face changed as if to say, “See, I told you so.”
“But Aunty, your husband isn’t going to change just because you feel this way!” Sakthi added, and the change in Sugandhi’s expression shifted again.
“It’s not about feeling that way… But the anger, frustration, and disappointment from losing our trust is wounding our hearts!”
“There’s definitely truth in what you’re saying! But what I’m trying to say is, don’t carry that pain permanently… Get out of it as soon as possible!”
A mind that seeks peace
“Alright, even if I keep it that way… To do that, our mind needs some peace, right?”
“Of course!”
“Then… I need to know why this happened to me! Even though I did everything right, why did everything go wrong for me? Why did problems come to me? That’s my question! Only if I know the answer to that can I find peace!”
Sakthi had guided Sugandhi to the very place she had been expecting her to reach.
Seek the Answer
When a problem arises, we ask why it happened and dwell on it. But we rarely seek the answer to either!
After Sugandhi asked, Sakthi responded with a faint smile.
“Why are you smiling? Don’t you know the answer?” she asked, and then thought to herself, “Even the supreme power hasn’t answered… Is this Sakthi going to give me one?”
But what Sugandhi didn’t realize was that the supreme power had provided her the opportunity to meet this Sakthi to answer her devout plea! Let’s hope that when Sugandhi receives the answer to her question, she will understand the divine play of the Goddess!
The Offering
“I know, Aunty!! You are experiencing what you have given!”
“What?”
“I said, you are experiencing what you have given!”
“What are you saying, Sakthi!! Did I give something?” Sugandhi only half-understood what she said, while the rest was unclear.
“Yes, Aunty! Whether you are experiencing pain or happiness, it is what you have given! There’s a saying in our village: ‘He who sows deeds, reaps deeds; he who sows grains, reaps grains!’ That’s exactly what’s happening here.”
Sugandhi’s Anger
What Sakthi said initially shocked Sugandhi. As she thought more and more about it, anger towards Sakthi began to rise within her. That anger came out in her words.
“What are you trying to say?? Are you saying that I didn’t behave correctly??”
Sakthi smiled. It was that same divine smile! But at this moment, Sugandhi was not in a state of mind to appreciate it.
“Are you going to say it??”
“Yes, Aunty!!!” As soon as Sakthi said this, Sugandhi stood up, her eyes blazing with anger.
“How can you say I was wrong??? I behaved correctly!!” she said, without her anger diminishing even slightly.
Everyone’s Justification
“Aunty… Please be patient for a moment… Sit down… Don’t get tense!!”
“What, dear, you may be young, but I am absolutely right… I swear on that Mother Parashakti that I have done nothing wrong!!! What fault are you finding with me??” Her voice echoed with deep sorrow.
Who can accept being blamed by others? Everyone feels justified in what they do! Even if they realize they are wrong, pride often prevents them from admitting it. If we could recognize and admit our mistakes, half of the world’s problems wouldn’t exist!
The Human Mind
“Aunty, I’m not blaming you!”
“Then why are you saying I’m experiencing punishment for what I did?”
Sugandhi spoke again with anger, and her head began to ache. Her face clearly showed her discomfort, so Sakthi forcibly made her sit down.
“Aunty, please don’t get tense again… It’s not good for your health!!”
“What else will happen if I listen to what you’re saying?”
Sugandhi couldn’t understand what Sakthi was trying to convey. This misunderstanding caused her words to inflict pain, which in turn made her angry at Sakthi. None of the good qualities Sakthi displayed just moments ago could prevent Sugandhi from being angry with her.
That’s how the human mind works! If someone speaks in our favor, we consider them good, but if they criticize us, we quickly label them as bad.
Sakthi’s Patience
Sakthi fully understood Sugandhi’s state of mind. She remained patient and tried to make Sugandhi understand.
“Aunty… just a minute!!” she said, taking out a mobile phone and dialing a number. She put it on speaker, and a voice announced, “There is not enough balance to make this call.”
Immediately, she switched the SIM card to another phone, dialed a number again, and put it on speaker. Once more, the mechanical voice said, “There is not enough balance to make this call.”
Watching Sakthi’s actions, Sugandhi thought, “What’s wrong with this girl… She was fine all this time!!! Now she’s putting on some act with an old phone without a recharge….!!!” Sakthi’s actions made Sugandhi think this way.
While still fiddling with the phone, Sakthi asked,
“Aunty, are you thinking that I’ve gone crazy?”
Explanation of the Action
When Sakthi said exactly what she was thinking, Sugandhi hesitated for a moment.
“Not… not exactly…” she replied with some hesitation.
“No, Aunty, what I did… it’s understandable that you felt that way!!”
“…”
“If a number or SIM isn’t recharged, no matter how many phones you switch it to, the call won’t go through, right? Because it doesn’t have a balance!! In the same way, no matter how many births we take, the karma our soul has accumulated will come along with us…. Everything good and bad we do is recorded by our soul. Just like a phone, no matter how many times we change the device, our number, that is, the karma of our soul, remains unchanged!!!”
“What are you trying to say, Sakthi?”
“The pain you’re experiencing now, it’s the same pain you inflicted on your close ones in your previous birth, and now you are experiencing it again!”
The Soul’s Karma
“Then I’ve been good all these years!!”
“Not everyone only makes mistakes in life! They do good things too!!”
“How can I believe this? I can’t accept all of this, Sakthi!!”
“That’s exactly the problem, Aunty!! When things are going well, we take pride in thinking it’s because of our good deeds, but when something bad happens, we refuse to believe that it’s due to our own past wrongdoings!!”
“How can you be so sure about this?”
The Play of Karma
“I experienced it myself… I had good parents… life was going well… then suddenly, when I was 18, my parents passed away! I faced a lot of difficulties alone… I wondered why this had to happen to me when I hadn’t done anything wrong… I sought the reason. That’s when my brother and I met a spiritual guide… With the small clues he gave us, we tried to understand our lives… That’s how we started this project… I understood why I faced hardships… I accepted it… I learned to live with it… I figured out what I need to do to ensure a good life in my next birth, and what I should and shouldn’t do in this life… That’s what I’m trying to explain to you, Aunty!” Sakthi concluded her long explanation.
But Sugandhi’s mind was not at peace with the idea that she had done something wrong in a past life!
“I just can’t accept that I made a mistake! My mind won’t find peace!”
The App That Reveals Past Lives
“Aunty… remember I mentioned a project I worked on? It’s something that can show you your past life’s experiences.”
“How?” Sugandhi asked Sakthi with a mix of disbelief and astonishment.
“We developed a software over three years… Basically, if we input the events happening in our current life… it will generate a story showing us how we might have been in our past life based on those inputs.”
“Oh!”
“We don’t have the resources to make it advanced, so we kept it simple… For now, the output will be in written form—basically, it will give us the answer in text!”
“How can I believe that this is true, dear?”
Sugandhi’s question was quite reasonable! How could anyone believe that a software created by a woman would accurately reveal past lives and function correctly?
Sugandhi in Amazement
“Alright, Aunty, let’s set aside past lives and this life for a moment… Think about some people you know who, in this life, have either faced punishment for the wrongs they’ve done or enjoyed benefits for the good deeds they’ve performed. Share one such incident… let’s see what answer comes from it… then we can decide! That’s how we tested this software!”
Sugandhi looked at Sakthi in amazement, wondering if all this was even possible.
“Aunty… it wasn’t easy to achieve this… It’s not just three years of hard work! The spiritual guide I mentioned helped us a lot in obtaining what we needed in various ways… It’s only because of his blessings that this became possible! There were many times we felt like giving up, but his guidance gave us the strength to finish this project!!”
A small glimmer of hope sparked in Sugandhi; it seemed that Sakthi’s words had not been in vain after all!
The Magic of the Software
Sakthi led Sugandhi to a room. She asked Sugandhi to provide the events she wanted to input, and then entered everything into the computer, generating the results in written form. She asked Sugandhi to review it carefully. After Sugandhi had finished reviewing, Sakthi commanded the software to produce the answers. At first, Sugandhi wasn’t clear on how it worked, so the initial answers didn’t match the events she provided.
Finally, Sugandhi input an incident where her in-laws were abandoned by their second son and daughter, left destitute and homeless, until her husband rescued them in their final days. The software returned two events as answers. The first was that the parents had treated their children with favoritism, giving one child comfort while causing the others hardship.
The second event revealed that the parents had shown partiality among their children and neglected to fairly distribute their assets.
Seeing these answers, Sugandhi was shocked.
Sakthi asked her,
“Aunty! Do you believe it now?”
Belief Took Hold
Sugandhi expressed a desire to see another incident.
She recalled a family living next door to her who had saved their hard-earned money in gold for their daughter’s wedding, only to have it stolen by thieves. She wanted to know why this had happened, so she asked the software for an answer. One of the responses matched 70% with what she already knew to be the true reason.
The wife in that couple had, in her younger years, secretly left her home and married without her parents’ knowledge. Not only that, but she had also taken the money and jewelry her parents had saved for her sister’s wedding.
When Sugandhi remembered how the woman had tearfully confessed her mistake to her, grieving over the loss of the gold she had saved, she was left speechless! A question arose in her mind: What could she herself have done in a past life?
