Due to the fact that her daughter Sangari was also born under the same Thiruvathira star, Sangari’s mother feared that her daughter might face similar hardships in her in-laws’ house. To ensure her daughter would be well, she arranged a marriage where her daughter was sent to the home of her friend as a daughter-in-law. Sangari’s mother believed that if her daughter faced any trouble there, it would be known to her since their daughter was living with them, and they would not mistreat her daughter out of fear. This gave her confidence that her daughter would be well taken care of.

However, Sangari, knowing her mother’s troubles well, hid any suffering she experienced at her in-laws’ house to avoid worrying her mother. She endured her mother-in-law’s cruelty, her husband’s indifference, and even her own daughter abandoning her to stay with her grandmother. Unable to bear these injustices, Sangari left the house. When Sangari’s mother realized that her daughter’s marriage was not working out, she had a heart attack and passed away. Sangari’s brother knew the in-laws were responsible for their mother’s death, so Sangari did not return to her maternal home, fearing that her brother might grow to despise her friend, his wife. Instead, she went to live with an old woman who ran a flower shop.
Living with the flower shop lady, she performed penance for her Shukra Karma by stringing flower garlands. This work acted as a remedy for her sins, and gradually, she was freed from her bad karma. Nature provided her with this means of penance, allowing her to find peace in her life eventually. Thank you.
